A must have : Yohji Yamamoto – My Dear Bomb

Belgian publisher Ludion is publishing a biography of Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto this October, entitled Yohji Yamamoto – My Dear Bomb.
Born in Yokohama in 1943, Yamamoto is one of Japan’s most influential fashion designers. Interestingly, before he entered the fashion world he actually studied law at Tokyo’s Keio University. Only after graduating from Keio in 1966, did Yamamoto enter Bunka Fashion College and become a fashion designer.

His star rose to immense heights after his debut in Paris in 1981, when he and colleagues like Rei Kawakubo (Comme des Garçons) redefined what fashion meant. Over the years Yamamoto has collaborated with a who’s who in the fashion world like Adidas (Y-3), Hermès, Mikimoto as well as an endless list of well-known artists, including Takeshi Kitano (aka Beat Takeshi) and Sir Elton John.
